Johnny Appleseed day –Betty B.
I always try to use this book around Johnny Appleseed day in the fall. We do lots of "apple activities" and this book works in nicely. (Posted on 6/2/2012)
Good but lots of vocab for the level –Emily B
I read this book with a group of below-grade 1st graders. It was during our organisms unit and they really enjoyed seeing how the seed turned into an apple. The only reason that I didn't give it 5 stars is that it has a lot of vocabulary words for the level...especially words like 'blossom' that many of my kids weren't familiar with so even with a preview were a little hard for them.
