Reviews
What is a fox? –Karen
This story with the red cape - Jack and the search for the fox - even though he really isn't sure what a fox looks like - is very engaging. The students are motivated to read! Once they spy the red cape on the cover, then they are set to get started! This is a favorite for rereading practice time. (Posted on 7/15/2013)

Jack shows his true colors in this book! I love the bookend phrase that opens and closes the story very cleverly! A truly delightful story. (Posted on 2/2/2012)
Kids Love this Funny Book –Deb
Smooth read and lots of fun . Children laugh out loud when they see the Super Dog cape. This is a must have in your classroom library! (Posted on 1/23/2012)
A fun book with clear opportunities for comprehension practice –Jacqueline
This funny story gives plenty of opportunities for students to think about what Daisy, Jack, and Bella are feeling and thinking, and about why they react in certain ways. These longer stories provide wonderful little snapshots for developing understanding of characters. Jack and Daisy are so much like my students that they are easily able to connect with the text. A funny story with a good amount of text. –Beth V.
I love Daisy's witty humor, how gullible Jack is, and how funny all the Jack and Daisy books are. In this story, Bella's disdain for the newer "little" dogs leads her to warn them of "foxes". Even though Jack has his super-dog cape on, it can't protect him from a scary fox (although he's unsure of what a fox really is)...

As you get up in the levels, it's nice for kids to continue to get exposed to longer and longer stories. This book does not disappoint with 226 words.
