Supportive with appropriate challenges –Jacqueline
Jack and Daisy visit their cousin Stewie. The book features a repeating pattern that supports early readers, and also opportunities to practice strategies with challenging words such as backyard, cousin, and hole, and to distinguish between love and like. There are also opportunities to practice comprehension strategies when discussing the book, such as predicting what Jack and Daisy will do next. Students will enjoy reading the book with intonation to make the dialogue sound interesting. (Posted on 1/29/12)
